This is a big thank you, from the entire Pep Packs team! Thank you for donating and sharing our cause. Thank you for offering to volunteer and for giving advice along the way.
With your help, we’ve delivered nearly 1,000 care packages across LA County (and a few outside-- we’ve done our best to help other requests as they come in). Between our many volunteer drivers, we’ve driven over 5,000 miles dropping packages to organizations and individual homes-- thanks to our delivery volunteers: Emily, Michelle, Adam, Ellie, Caleb, Kady, Ali, Britt, and Matt. Big thanks also to our translators, Bethy, Susana, and Estevan.
As we reach the homestretch, we’re no longer asking for donations, but wanted to update you on operations. The Southern California Children’s Museum generously came on as our fiscal sponsor, allowing us to receive funding from a number of family foundations, neighborhood councils, and corporations (big thanks to our new team member Jess for fundraising help!). We’ve continued our partnerships with MEND, Community Coalition, United American Indian Involvement Inc, Mutual Aid LA, Ground Game LA, Westside Infant-Family Network, Dignity and Power Now, and The Latino Resource Organization. In addition, we’ve received enough funding to help support Core Response’s remaining testing sites. Those who test positive and are in-need of supplies, will be directed our way. We’re also in the process of being listed as a resource on 211LA. Our plan is to be around until everyone has been able to access the vaccine.
We couldn’t have done any of this without your support! So please know-- we are forever grateful!
